At least 25 people were detained by the US patrol when trying to arrive illegally in Puerto Rico

At least 25 people of unknown nationality were detained this Tuesday by the Puerto Rican authorities when trying to arrive illegally in Puerto Rico, according to the EFE news agency.

According to what is detailed in the media, while the agents of the Maritime Unit of the United Forces of Rapid Action (FURA) of the local Police carried out preventive surveillance in the area, they observed a 7-meter homemade boat devoid of navigation lights approaching land.

“Due to the strong waves, the boat turned over, causing its occupants to fall into the water,” explained EFE

For their part, the group of people who were on the boat, ten of them, 6 women and 4 men, were rescued by Puerto Rican officials.

The rest of the travelers arrived at the shore of the beach, where they were stop nests by US Border Patrol agents.

Similarly, US Coast Guard officers developed a search plan for the rest of the travelers who were in the boat, however, in the middle of the area search have not detected people in the water so far.
