“I’m sorry” was the message that Jorge Pagan Cordero found on a bedside table the day his four-year-old daughter Masiela DeCaro was found dead in the a room at the Star Island Resort hotel in Kissimmee.
For Pagan Cordero, the death of his daughter left him devastated and he recalled her during a link he had with the media outlet Wesh: “Her smile, beautiful she was and how she could brighten up a whole room. How smart he was. The fact that he looked exactly like me. She is my angel. She is pretty much everything anyone could want from a daughter. I’m really out of this.”
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Masiela DeCaro Pagan’s mother was found next to the girl, unconscious, and was taken urgently to a hospital to be treated.
Furthermore, they revealed that there was a note on the bedside table that said “I’m sorry”, which has led Jorge Pagan Cordero to stay strong and be a good role model for those around him, including his other daughter.
“She (Masiela DeCaro) was crazy about Jojo Siwa, crazy about unicorns, loved her family, loved her mom very much”, the father recalled.
Despite everything, Pagan says that all is forgiven: “For me, it could have been something that I was struggling with or a battle with depression.”
Likewise, she indicated that she never imagined that the mother of her daughter would try to do something with like what she did: “I would never expect her to do something like this at all. That girl helped me out of situations of depression and helped me change my life for the better”.
She also highlighted that her partner was a strong woman: “Seeing someone as strong as a leader ending up doing something like this is not good. It just shows that everyone should check on their loved ones more, make sure they’re okay, you know, if they need something. Pray to God, pray for healing, guidance, strength and stand firm”.
So far it is known that the mother of little Masiela DeCaro Pagan is still hospitalized.
