A citizen of Mexican nationality and 48 years of age faces life in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to transport at least 1, 550 kilograms of marijuana, as announced this Thursday by the United States Department of Justice.
Jorge Monjaraz Pérez pleaded guilty in the Federal Court of the Southern District of Texas, for crimes related to drug trafficking, federal prosecutor Jennifer B. Lowery explained through a statement.
According to The letter details, Monjaraz Pérez admitted conspiring with an organization in charge of drug trafficking to move the aforementioned amount of marijuana in the United States and also acknowledged having a hiding place in the city of Brownsville, Texas.
