The New York Police Department (NYPD) today accused Winston Glynn of having killed Puerto Rican cashier Kristal Bayron-Nieves in the middle of a robbery in the early hours of Sunday at a Burger King in East Harlem, Manhattan.
Local media reported shortly after noon this Friday that the man from 30 years faces charges of murder, robbery, criminal use of a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon.
A person of interest had been arrested Thursday in Brooklyn in connection with the case. But it was not until this afternoon that the report emerged that Glynn had been criminally prosecuted for the crime. It is not clear if it is the same person.
A belt he was wearing and an EBT card were part of the evidence that led the detectives to the defendant today, as highlighted in the report from ABC 7.
Apparently, Glynn had worked in another fast food chain location, not the one down the street 116 and Lexington Avenue where the crime was reported around 19: 45 am last Sunday.
The suspect, who appears on surveillance cameras pointing a gun at staff, shot him in the torso to the victim of 19 years after she gave him a $100 dollar bill .
The authorities had offered a reward of $19,000 for clues that will lead to the arrest of the suspect.
