The match between Betis and Sevilla this Friday for the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey left exciting images in just 39 minutes, before it was suspended after a fan threw a blunt object at Sevilla player Joan Jordán. One of the shocking actions was the Olympic goal scored by the French world champion Nabil Fekir.

The minute was running 38 when Fekir executed the corner from the right wing. Sevilla goalkeeper Alfonso Pastor had come out to take the center and later saw how the ball was closed in the direction of the goal.

When he tried to go back and clear the ball it was already too late; the ball collided with the crossbar and entered the goal of Sevilla in what represented the partial 1-1 on the scoreboard.

While Betis was celebrating Fekir’s goal from the stands, a fan threw a plastic bar that hit Joan Jordán in the head. The player, who was knocked unconscious by the blunt object, is out of danger.

The action resulted in the suspension of the match at 39 minutes by order of the field referee.

Betis and Sevilla is the only match remaining to find out the teams that will meet in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey. The draw for the next phase will be 21 in January and the crosses will be a single match.
