Over the years, Twitter users have used the platform to write their most cherished dreams on the platform and some -the luckiest- have been able to fulfill them some time later. This is basically the premise of the new campaign of the social network “Dream It”, which stars Kansas City Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

In 2013 Mahomes had 17 years old and was in college with Oklahoma State. As a fan, he entered Twitter three days after the Baltimore Ravens beat 34-01 to San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl XLVII and after seeing Joe Flacco, who like all the MVPs of the match go to the Walt Disney World Resort, he wondered what it would feel like to go to the theme park to celebrate the NFL title.

“I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says, ‘I’m going to Disney World’ after winning the Super Bowl. #Qbs,” Mahomes wrote.

Those words would prophesy what would come years later, because in 2019 he himself would know Disney after being crowned the Super Bowl LIV MVP and giving the first title to Kansas City since 1969 .

On that occasion, Mahomes told ESPN that “I didn’t even remember tweeting it until it came out before the Super Bowl. For me, it was something so iconic and something special, and I wanted to do that. And now I have it and I’m here (…) it’s amazing.”

Mahomes’ message along with a photo of him celebrating the championship is found above a New York subway station; and like that advertising there are several throughout the United States and Canada.

The advertisement also has other sports stars such as the Nigerian and winner of the Rookie of the Year of the WNBA Michaela Onyenwere, who dreamed of being in the NBA in 2013, or Diamond DeShields who “couldn’t wait until play a WNBA final“.

Another case was that of Leonard Fournette, Mahomes’ teammate in the NFL, who also “couldn’t wait” to play a Super Bowl. And he also won the trophy with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 being the protagonist in one of the scores.

The singer Demi Lovato, the former member of One Direction Nial Horan or the film director and former American football player Matthew A. Cherry, were also part of the Twitter campaign.
