MIAMI, Florida – Police in Houston (Texas) arrested a suspect related to the murder that occurred last week of a young Latina who received 22 bullet wounds from his back when he was walking his pet, the victim’s mother reported to local media.

This is Frank de León, from 17 years old and ex-boyfriend of the 15-year-old teenager Diamond Álvarez, who was arrested on Monday afternoon, reported the Telemundo network.

For her part, Ana Machado, Diamond’s mother, told Noticias 45, of the local Univision channel, that police agents informed the relatives of the young man’s arrest, who supposedly was preparing to elope.

So far no confirmation police of this arrest.

The young Latina was shot 22 when she was walking her pet in a park in her neighborhood in south Houston.

The Pol Police in Houston were tracking a dark-colored vehicle that was seen leaving the scene shortly after the shots were heard.

Álvarez’s mother told local media that she heard the shots and, not knowing anything about her daughter, went to look for her after the dog returned home alone, and found her on the ground and tried to revive her, no luck.

The suspect must appear in court on Wednesday, when he will be informed of the charges against him, reported Telemundo.
