When he was 20 years old, Orenzso Bovell was a victim of armed violence in New York and managed to survive. But last night he did not have the same luck and was shot to death on a Brooklyn street.
NYPD agents found Bovell, of 34 years old, shot in the chest at the corner of Quincy St. and Patchen Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant yesterday around 5: 45 pm Paramedics took Bovell to Kings County Hospital, but they were unable to save him there.
Bovell, who lived a mile and a half from the crime scene, had been the victim of a shooting at 888 and was suspected of causing a shooting in 2020, police sources told Daily News.
At the moment NYPD did not have details on the motive for Bovell’s murder. Anyone with information should call 1-800-577-TIPS (74782) and in Spanish 1-888-57 -CLUE (74782). Also through crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or by text message to 274637 (CRIMES), followed by TIP550. All communications are strictly confidential.
After the rise of armed violence in 2020 and 2021, the year 2021 seems to have started with the same trend, representing a great challenge for the new mayor Eric Adams, a former NYPD officer.
