just-as-he-did-with-america:-pipa-benedetto-leaves-elche-and-arrives-at-boca-juniors

After spending five months in Spanish football without standing out – he barely scored 2 goals in 14 matches– and without being able to justify the fame that preceded him, Argentine striker Darío “Pipa” Benedetto closed the curtain on his time as an Elche player.

Pipa had been with negotiations to leave Elche, to which he arrived on loan last summer from Olympique Marsella. In the absence of official confirmation, the player returns to Boca Juniors, as Argentine media have pointed out in recent weeks.

Benedetto, who according to EFE said goodbye to the club this Wednesday, was one of the great additions for this season of Elche. Along with Javier Pastore, another top-level Argentine, he was called to lead the quality leap of the Elche squad.

However, Pipa has not trained with the team since Saturday, supposedly because of physical problems. His last match in LaLiga dates back to last 11 December, in defeat (2- 1) against Valencia, where he saw action in the 30 final minutes.

It is worth noting that the Argentine striker is a partner of Christian Bragarnik, owner of Elche and representative of the Argentine, in the company Score Club 2019, therefore that Benedetto, in addition to being a footballer, was one of the reference shareholders of this institution.

Trained in the lower categories of Independiente de Avellaneda, Pipa made his professional debut with Arsenal de Sarandí in 2007. Later, he defended the colors of Defense and Justice (2007/2010), in the junior gymnastics and fencing team (2011).

In 2013 he made the leap to Liga MX with the Xolos de Tijuana. Between 2015 and 2016 he wore the America shirt, with the one that won two Concachampions. From there he went to Boca, where he lost the final of the Copa Libertadores of 2018 against River. Before arriving at Elche he played with Marseille.
