New York Attorney General Letitia James said last night that her office is taking legal action to “force” former President Donald Trump and his two eldest children, Donald Jr. and Ivanka, to comply with the law. .

“No one in this country can choose if and how the law applies to them,” James said in Twitter messages sent around midnight yesterday.

According to James, “significant evidence” indicates that former President Trump’s organization “used fraudulent and misleading asset valuations on multiple properties to obtain economic benefits, including loans, insurance coverage and tax deductions for years.” He added that Trump and his two eldest sons were involved in the questionable transactions.

“We will not be deterred in our efforts to continue this investigation, uncover the facts and do justice, no matter how many obstacles the Trump and his family,” James said. “No one is above the law.”

In a motion filed Tuesday, James took legal action to “compel” the Trump family to testify as part of an ongoing investigation, according to a statement from the NY Attorney General’s Office, Pix 11.

The presentation indicates that the controversial former President Trump and his children Donald Jr. and Ivanka were directly involved in one or more transactions under review and therefore must testify.

Earlier this year, attorneys for the Trumps filed a petition with the New York Supreme Court to vacate the subpoena or wait for the criminal investigation to be completed, arguing that Attorney General James has disclosed information that should be confidential about the investigation and possible criminal charges.
