People against immigrants in Florida, several of them from Donald Trump’s MAGA movement, generated a scandal over a video that supposedly showed that dozens of undocumented immigrants were sent to the entity, but it turned out that the images captured immigrants, but they all have work visas.
The local Fox station 35 in Orlando investigated the facts, after receiving dozens of phone calls from people against immigrants, including the Republican candidate for Congress, Laura Loomer.
The video showed a group of Hispanic men entering a local hotel, but to Protesters from the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, including the Proud Boys organization, claimed that they were undocumented, but in reality they were workers with H-2A visas, which are provisional permits.
This is an example of the conspiracy theories about how the Government d President Joe Biden is releasing undocumented immigrants across the country, confusing the transportation of non-citizens to holding centers in different parts, a common practice in all administrations.
Fox 35 confirmed that the men captured at the hotel were workers on temporary H2-A visas, legally hired by a local day care center.
America’s Voice warns that this fact is an example of what will be seen in the November electoral process.
“Anti-immigrant lies and distortions deployed as key elements of deliberate Republican policy,” he says.
Zachary Mueller, America’s Voice Senior Policy Manager, warns that this type of false news can cause serious problems, even people injured.
“It is a relief that no one was attacked in the Florida hotel incident promoted by the Republican candidate,” he said. “But this kind of fabricated outrage incited by the GOP is a witch’s brew that could turn into real attacks.”
He added that opponents of the government and critics of immigrants do not offer solutions nor do they care about the facts.
“During the next ten months we will expect more of the same”, he warned. “The media should point out the lies and general lack of facts, or at least not pick up on that rhetoric.”
In the controversy even Governor Ron DeSantis said that he would investigate the “invasion” of undocumented immigrants. It should be remembered that your government has declared war on the immigration policies of the Biden Administration.
