A 32-year-old man from California, who was carrying his father’s body in the back seat of his vehicle, was arrested by the police and has been identified as the murderer of the older adult.
The accused was identified as Giovania Abujalil, an ex-convict who had been out of prison for a week and was on supervised probation for a sentence of 2019 for elder abuse.
The agents were alerted to a suspicious driver who was circulating on an avenue in Porterville.
A homeowner called the authorities to tell them that a man was acting in a manner erratic and asking for money to buy gas, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A few hours after the arrest, investigators obtained a search warrant and searched Abujalil’s house, where they found more evidence linking the defendant to his father’s crime.
Investigators found that Giovanni Abujalil had been out of jail for a week and was on supervised parole for a previous conviction for elder abuse.
The alleged killer was transferred to the Tulare County Jail without right to bail. It is expected that this day will appear before a city court.
