The model Cristina ‘Vita’ Aranda, wife of Paraguayan Olimpia footballer Iván Torres, died on Sunday in a shooting that took place at a concert.
In addition to the influencer, she also died another person and at least five others were injured at the “Jaumina Fest” festival in San Bernardino, Paraguay.
Local media reported that Aranda was shot in the head, for which she was taken to the hospital National with “prognosis reserved”.
The authorities maintain the hypothesis that one of the wounded was the target of the attack, the attackers were looking for José Luis Bogado Quevedo, alias “Kuré”, an alleged drug trafficker with an international arrest warrant.
The other wounded, Marcelo Eladio Monteggia Díaz, is also associated with drug trafficking and is under detention in the hospital, reported the Paraguayan station ABC TV.
“According to the technical part, it is presumed that there may be a target that is the male person. The lady was next to her waiting for her husband, ”said Commissioner General Benicio Ramírez, Police Director of the department of Cordillera.
Aranda became known in Paraguay as a result of an appearance on the television program Calle 7, later, she continued a career as a model, publicist on social networks and entrepreneur of her own clothing brand.
