Nick Cannon and his partner, the model Bre Tiesi, held a party last weekend in California with relatives in which they revealed the sex of the baby they are expecting, which will be a boy and their eighth child of the rapper.
Cannon is already the father of ten-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with his former wife Mariah Carey, a boy and a girl with Brittany Bell and seven-month-old twins, Zion and Zillion, with Abby de la Rosa.
Nick explained through his television program that he had not shared the happy news before because he did not know when would be the right time to do so, since his son Zen, the fruit of his relationship with Alyssa Scott, died at just five months due to a brain tumor and he wanted to respect the mourning period of the little boy’s mother.
“I lost my son minor for a condition called hydrocephalus that was more or less a malignant and invasive midline brain tumor, a brain cancer. It’s hard,” he said last December totally devastated while detailing his son’s battle.
“I always noticed that I had a cough, so I wanted to check it out. He had interesting breathing and when he was two months old, I realized he had a good sized head too. We don’t think about it anymore, but I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinusitis and breathing. We thought it would be a routine check-up”, she explained.
Now it has been Alyssa herself who reacted to the announcement of the upcoming paternity of her ex to thank all the people who have sent her messages in the last hours asking him how he is.
He also acknowledged that it is very painful for him that the death of his son is being associated with the baby Nick is expecting with Bre, but he does not intend to say anything more about it.
“I always say that Zen expanded my heart in a way I never thought possible. He filled that space with compassion, knowing that I would need it more. It is painful that my son is part of conversations that are not aligned with his light and his legacy. It’s not something I’ve chosen for him or me. It is important to me to let everyone know that I am at peace. I approach this situation from love. I’m not going to judge anyone,” she assured in a statement published on her social networks.
Alyssa stated that both Nick and she had known since August that Zen’s time on this earth would be “limited” and he prefers to focus on thinking that both were fully present in his little one’s life.
“That weekend I made an effort to spend as much time as possible with my son Zen. We got up on Sunday and Alyssa and I went to the sea with him. Then I went back to New York for the show. But at the airport I received a call to return with Zen, “Nick recounted at the time, who could not contain his sadness when he recounted how the last hug with his little one was. “Not only were we able to see the sunrise, but we were also able to see the sunset,” he said.
At two months of age, the baby was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and underwent surgery, which, however, was unable to stop the development of the disease. Since then, the state of Zen worsened.
