Every beautiful story has its end and Tom Brady decided to put the final point in his golden book of 22 years of great battles in American football the NFL. In an emotional letter published on his instagram account, he said goodbye to everyone.
On January 29 the report of the eventual withdrawal came out of ‘TB20’ and his dad was in charge of calming things down, there was no final decision. Not even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers knew about the future of their quarterback, the greatest of all time.
However, in a post by various images Brady addressed his fans and other NFL supporters.
Brady statement
“I have always believed that sport is a ‘ all or nothing’. If you are not at 100% you will not be successful. And success is what I love about our sport. It is a physical, mental, and emotional mixture that makes me reach the maximum. And I have tried for 22 years, with no shortcuts in the field or in life”, he explained.
“It is difficult to write, but here goes: I’m not going to have that competitive commitment anymore. I’ve loved my NFL career, and now I want to spend my time and energy on other things. I have asked myself many questions, and I am proud of what I have achieved. But coaches, fans and teammates deserve the 100% from me. Therefore, it is better to leave the field of play to a new generation.
He thanked the New England Patriots, the team he played for 20 years and won six rings, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which he played two years and won a ring. To his parents, family and colleagues for helping him on this long journey.
