Zain Ali, aged 14, fatally shot his mother, brother and two sisters after literally becoming addicted to online gambling , this has been announced by the Pakistani press.

After the minor failed to pass a stage of the game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, he went in search of the family weapon and shot at point-blank range his mother, Nahid Mubarak, aged 45, and later his sister Mahnoor Fátima, aged 10, who came out of his room after hearing the shot.

Later he fatally shot his sister Jannat, aged , already his older brother, Taimur, from 22.

Court reports indicate that, after the multiple murder, Zain Ali left home with intending to dispose of the gun by throwing it down a drain and later returning to his dead family to pretend he was asleep; in his initial statement he said he did not know how his family had been killed since he was in the upper part of the house.

The police arrested the minor after they found bloodstains on his clothing and statement did not match the facts; after several false statements, Zain Ali admitted to having murdered his family under the influence of the game.

“He has developed some psychological problems after spending many hours of the day playing online”, said the police.

On the day of the murder, Zain Ali argued with his mother about the time he spent online playing video games.

According to the police, The Lahore minor suffered from psychological problems after playing long hours of the popular online video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, moreover, investigations by SSP police officer Imran Kishwar also said the boy seemed to have thought the game was real life .
