He also used to translate speeches given by Islamic State leaders and housed members of the organization.
Fluke-Ekren, who was captured in Syria and placed under The custody of the FBI, which extradited her to the US a few days ago, appeared Monday in a federal court in Virginia to answer charges of conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

“To carry out the attack, Fluke-Ekren allegedly explained that he could go to a shopping center in the United States, park a car packed with explosives in the basement or parking lot, and detonate the explosives from a cell phone”, mentions a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office.
The ‘Khatiba Nusaybah’ battalion, under her command, was composed solely of women married to male ISIS fighters. It was formed endings of 2016 and a short time later she took control.
“Fluke-Ekren’s alleged primary goal in this role was to teach ISIS women how to defend themselves against ISIS’s enemies,” the indictment describes.
