Two decades ago, Ronaldo Nazario arrived at Real Madrid for 45 million euros (almost $60 million dollars), which meant one of the most expensive signings of that time. However, as the years have passed, these figures have increased exponentially.
To cite an example, PSG paid 145 million euros ($164 million dollars) for Kylian Mbappé in 2018, thus becoming the second most expensive signing in history (the first is Neymar). Now the Frenchman could join Real Madrid this summer as a free agent, given that his contract with the Parisian entity expires in five months.
According to German newspaper Bild, Mbappé signed an agreement with the merengue institution, where he would win 50 million euros per year ($60. 5 million dollars), to become the highest paid footballer in the world. In this sense, Ronaldo took advantage of his invitation on Bobo TV, the Twitch channel of former Italian soccer player Christian Vieri, to express his opinion.
“Mbappé is very strong, he has that speed and coldness in front of the goal that will take you to be number one. And I have read the news that he will go to Real Madrid and earn 50 millions (of euros) a year… We were wrong generation”, Ronaldo said with a laugh.

The former striker for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter and Milan added: “The football industry is growing so much that it is just that the stars receive more and more money. If it’s like that today, it’s because there were players who inspired them, like we did”.
