This Thursday, an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was reported in northern Peru and southern Ecuador, according to what was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on its Twitter account.

The Geophysical Institute of Ecuador reported that the earthquake was of magnitude 6.8 and occurred at 162.21 km from the Peruvian city of Moyobamba, San Martin.

For its part, the USGS stated that the earthquake occurred about 51 kilometers northwest of Barranca, Peru, and at a depth of 100.3 kilometers.

Similarly, the Geophysical Institute of Peru reported a magnitude of 6.8.

Images were disseminated on social networks showing some damage caused by the earthquake in Ecuador and Peru.
