An Indiana teenager was sentenced to 100 years in prison for suffocating his two little half-siblings and causing their deaths.

Desiree McCartney, aged 23 months, and Nathaniel Ritz, aged 11 months were the victims of Nickalas Kedrowitz , of years. The murders occurred in attacks on separate days, as demonstrated by the authorities in the trial.

The events occurred in the year 2017, when the accused had 13 years. It was May 1 when Christina McCartney, Desiree’s mother, returned home and discovered that the girl “was not breathing well,” according to FOX affiliate WXIX.

The minor died on May 6 May at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in nearby Ohio. At that time, the teenager was not charged with any crime, although he was removed from the house.

While Nathaniel’s death occurred on 17 July.

As detailed by WKRC, authorities eventually concluded that Kedrowitz smothered Desiree with a towel to “release her to heaven.” Months later, he was accused of putting a blanket over Nathaniel’s head.

Kedrowitz reportedly came under fire from officers after his mother said that she once mutilated a kitten; while another family member described him with a temperament like that of the Incredible Hulk.

The authorities reported that some time later Kedrowitz confessed to the murder of the minor of months.

“There were several comments that were made to the police about releasing the brothers from some kind of hell,” said Ripley County Prosecutor, Ric Hertel.

That form of “hell” may have been related to someone else living in the home, Christina McCartney told WXIX.

The teen , who was tried as an adult, fought the charges. His defense held that the defendant was living with an untreated mental illness and deserved a favorable sentence, but Judge Ryan King determined that the convicted teenager showed no remorse, therefore, he issued two consecutive sentences of 50 years for the murders of his little half brothers.
