Many people are not only looking for a partner who is intelligent or good looking, because currently there are those who find it attractive that an individual has cryptocurrencies.
And it is that, currently, the 33% of Americans said they would be more likely to date someone who mentions that they have crypto assets in their online dating profile.
Likewise, almost three out of four people would be more interested in going on a second date with a person who paid the bill using Bitcoin, according to a recent survey by the investment platform eToro. It should be noted that the number of business premises that accept cryptocurrencies as payment is close to 100 million.
Those holding other digital assets such as non-fungible tokens or NFTs may also be attractive. Almost 20% of single people would be more interested in you romantically if you set an NFT as your profile picture on a social platform or site as discovered by eToro.
Cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin in particular, became more popular in 2021.
Now, 16% of Americans said they have personally invested, traded, or used cryptocurrencies, according to CNBC data.
Among adults among 18 and 29 years, that figure increases to 31%. Men are also twice as likely as women to say they have ever used a cryptocurrency: 22% compared to 10%.
As dating becomes increasingly digital, showing your investments in these assets could help you set yourself apart of others.
You should bear in mind that these investments are usually very volatile. It is worth remembering that, after Bitcoin reached an all-time high last November, the entire cryptocurrency market has now lost more than a trillion dollars in value.
Still, many experts say that cryptocurrencies have a lot of room to grow this year, which makes it an investment that could be worth it.
