One of the bombshells of the closing of the transfer market in January, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, was already officially presented this Thursday as a new FC Barcelona player in an act where the club president Joan Laporta and part of the family were present of the Gabonese.

Aubameyang, stamped his signature as a Barcelona player until June 2025, although he keeps output option for 2023; even so, the same attacker of 32 years old hopes to be in Barcelona for many years.

“This is the opportunity of my life. I’m really looking forward to it and I’m going to give it my all. I have to thank the club for everything and it is an honor to be here. I’m ready to help the team now. It’s true that I haven’t played for a long time, but in my head I’m ready to play and I know that I’m going to return to the top little by little”, declared Aubameyang at the press conference.

Aubameyang, became the fourth reinforcement of the azulgranas in this January transfer market, after the arrival of Ferran Torres and Adama Traoré. In addition, the Gabonese will wear the number 25 behind his back for the remainder of the season.

“I’m ready to play Barça’s style. I’ve seen a lot of Barça games, I have to adapt but it’s just football. I want to start. I have spoken a bit like the mister and he sees me as nine. If he needs me on the wing there would be no problem, because I am ready to play in these positions”, added the Gabonese.

The 32-year-old attacker landed in Barcelona early on Monday and from that very moment he generated a certain enthusiasm in the press and in the followers of Barcelona. All this thanks to his enormous potential and for being one of the top players in the world.

“Everything was perfect, when I arrived I felt very good. The people received me well and I am very happy”, commented Aubameyang.

Although everything happened quickly and with the uncertainty of reaching the agreement before the end of the transfer market, Aubameyang enjoyed every second in Barcelona with his father.

“It was a very long day, crazy. We signed two minutes from the end. I was with my dad at his house hoping that everything would go well. In the end they called me in the afternoon to go do the medical check-up and I was very happy, a little stress at the end but everything was fine”, assured the footballer.

Now, coach Xavi Hernández, You will have at your disposal a striker with blood and a nose for goal; something that the club has lacked throughout the season. Without forgetting that his speed will be important in the Barça game, along with Adama Traoré and Ferran Torres.

Likewise, Xavi will also be able to maneuver his scheme with the presence of several attackers, adding Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and waiting for what happens with the controversial Ousmane Dembélé, who is Aubameyang’s best friend.
