A Texas parent, whose name is unknown at the moment, has asked to remove a biography of former first lady Michelle Obama from school libraries for considering the way in which it represents Donald Trump unfair.

According to the man from Katy, Heather E. Schwartz’s “Michelle Obama: Political Icon” portrays the former US president as a “thug” which gave the impression that “if you sound like a girl white, you should be ashamed of yourself”.

According to NBC News this week the list of 22 books that the parents of Texas have asked schools to remove them because they describe race, sexuality, gender and are not suitable for students.

Heather E. Schwartz told Insider she was “shocked” that someone (referring to the father of the family) would like to ban the book because “it is a non-fiction book that does not seem controversial to me.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for District E Independent School of Katy, María Corrales DiPetta, has announced that the book indicated by the father of the family was subjected to a thorough review and determined that it should not be eliminated.

DiPetta also added that any book that is questioned is carefully analyzed to know if it stays or goes: “We could have received hundreds of requests and it would have gone through the same process.”

Since December 2021 Some Texas school libraries have begun to remove from their shelves books that parents consider vulgar and unsuitable for their children.
