Erik Jesús Martínez, aged 30, and Valerie Díaz, aged 34, are in custody after being accused of locking three minors in a cabinet for three days in a row.

The same outlet indicated that the police report indicates that the three children, aged 11, 6 and 5 years old, they were deprived of their liberty by putting them inside a cabinet that was closed with zip ties and screws for three days.

After those three days, the mother called the police to say that her children were locked in a cabinet, so they went to the home of the Hispanic couple with a welfare control order.

However, when the police arrived at the scene, Erik Jesús Martínez was driving a truck, in which the three children were also; The mother of the minors indicated that her partner, who is not the children’s father, used his hands, a belt, as well as a plastic object to hit the children, especially the oldest, on more than one occasion.

In the same affidavit it can be read that the apartment was dirty and there was no food when they inspected it; while the cabinets were next to each other with screws on the outer doors and used and unused plastic ties on the floor.

Inside the cabinets, the policemen noticed that there were feces, urine, and drawings painted on the wall.

Children, who were questioned by ChidSafe officials, indicated that they were occasionally locked up for days in cabinets and that they were not always they were fed. In addition, they confirmed that Erik Jesús Martínez beat them with a “cowboy belt”.

Erik Jesús Martínez was detained by the authorities on bail of $ 315,000 and so far it is unknown what Valerie Díaz’s bail will be.
