Taking advantage of the start of his new tour of the United States, specifically at the Ball Arena in Denver, Bad Bunny offered a message in support of the educators and the rest of the professionals who marched this Wednesday, February 9, in San Juan expressing his claim to the Government.
“Precisely today there are a number of Puerto Rican men and women protesting for a better salary, better conditions for education in Puerto Rico, the teachers in Puerto Rico who since here I tell you that you have my support“, expressed Bad Bunny.
The artist, likewise, retweeted two publications of the march that started in the Luis Muñoz Rivera park to La Fortaleza, headquarters of the Executive.
He also shared another tweet where the president of the Federation appears of Teachers of Puerto Rico, Mercedes Martínez, where she assures Governor Pedro Pierluisi that the demonstrations will continue if they do not attend to their demands.
The current basic salaries for teachers and firefighters, less than $2, 000 dollars, are well below the cost of living on the island, although this week the governor announced a temporary salary increase for teachers of $1, 000 dollars per month starting in July.

Bad Bunny was part of the artists who demonstrated in the “Summer of 2019” after the publication of a controversial chat he directed then Governor Ricardo Rosselló, who subsequently resigned from his post.
Another of those who participated in these demonstrations was Ricky Martin, who also took advantage of the occasion to express their support for teachers and other public employees.
“Puerto Rico, teachers, firefighters, police officers, public servants: salary justice is a human right. Keep going, you are not alone,” he said in a video addressing Pierluisi and added: “Mr. Governor, do not take these claims lightly. We already know how far a humiliated and oppressed country can go”.
For her part, singer-songwriter Kany García took advantage of her participation in the Spanish program ‘La Resistencia Cero’ to share the situation the island is experiencing .
