When he turned 40 two years ago, Kevin Hart decided that he no longer had anything to prove to anyone and that he would stop doing things just to impress others. That applies both to partying until the wee hours of the morning, a plan that he never signs up for no matter how much his wife Eniko insists, and swimming with sharks, which was the last great idea she had.
The mother of his two young children wanted them to share that experience together and he was encouraged to bathe in “waters infested with sharks” to overcome one of his greatest fears, until he realized that some of them were staring at him.
“I panicked. That was my limit”, he has confessed on the Elle DeGeneres program, “but my wife played it too much”.
The comedian got out of the water quickly, but Eniko was determined to keep swimming because she had only seen nurse sharks and wanted to be photographed with specimens of another species. It was then that the situation almost ended in tragedy.
“They bit her. And I told him: ‘You asked for it’. She has a scar and everything, “he assured. “Everyone is obsessed with getting photos for Instagram and wants to do a lot of nonsense”.
Kevin watched in slow motion what was about to happen from the boat and even commented to his eldest daughter, from her first marriage, that one of the sharks was moving too fast, although she didn’t have time to say anything else: “What did you expect? You get into the water with rings and shiny jewels and you start to move”, he reasoned.
