pennsylvania-man-accused-of-beheading-his-ex-girlfriend-and-trying-to-dismember-her-after-an-argument

A man was arrested by agents in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, for allegedly decapitating his ex-girlfriend after a fight and being caught trying to dismember her.

The authorities of the town of Clifton Heights were called to a residential area around 4: 15 am Friday, with the report that the couple had had an argument that ended tragically, reported 6 ABC.

The suspect was identified as Nicholas Scurria, of 32 years old, and was found by authorities in the process of cutting off the woman’s leg with an object described as a machete after being decapitated.

“I have been an officer for 32 years, this is absolutely horrible,” said Clifton Heights Police Chief Timothy Rockenbach. “I don’t even know what words I could use to describe how incredibly crazy this is, especially in my city.”

The scene experienced by the agents has had an impact on both Rockenbach and his colleagues, who highlighted how Scurria dismembered the body of the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, and detailed that the suspect had several weapons with him.

The officers reported that Scurria was using the machete to cut the leg of the woman, while the decapitated body of the victim was wrapped in plastic.

“I think the intention was obviously to hide the crime“, Rockenbach recounted regarding the wrapped plastic.

The police singled out the neighbor who called to report the fight, which prevented Scurria from fleeing the scene.

“Domestic violence is a major crime everywhere“, Rockenbach pointed out. “Sometimes the intercession of a neighbor allows us to solve a crime, stop a crime or prevent a crime from happening.”

After being questioned, Scurria told the detectives that he and the victim lived together and had argued, but he clarified that he considered the relationship to be over, according to the report.

The report added that the suspect said that during the argument he had rendered the victim unconscious after hitting her repeatedly in the head and face. In addition, he admitted that he attempted to dispose of the woman’s body by dismembering various parts.

Scurria faces charges of first degree murder, third degree murder and abuse of a corpse. The investigations surrounding the murder continue.
