A man and a woman were shot to death at a gas station in Canovanas, in northeastern Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rican Police reported this Saturday.
The agents, who went to the scene alerted by a call to the emergency system, they found a Kia Forte vehicle with bullet holes and, inside, the bodies of a woman and a man.
The victims were identified as Enid W. Figueroa Rivera, 25 years old, and Wilfredo Ocasio Pacheco, 25 years old, both residents of Canovanas, according to the police statement.
The double murder was reported in hours on Friday night at the premises of a gas station located on the highway 185, in the Campo Rico de Canóvanas neighborhood.
The circumstances of this crime are under investigation, with the investigation being carried out by the Homicide Division of the Carolina Criminal Investigation Corps.
In their message, the Police exhorted the public to collaborate in helping to clarify this double murder if they had any information.
Violent deaths increased in 2021 in Puerto Rico compared to 2020, registering up to eleven multiple murders last year.
A large part of the murders that occur on the island are due to settling scores related to drug trafficking.
