With his hair completely shaved and a mask on, Brooks, whose bail is set at $5 million, had a brief court appearance on Friday, lasting less than five minutes, reported New York Post.

Authorities indicated that Brooks was also involved in an unrelated domestic incident prior to the attack.

Anna Kees, public defender and attorney for Brooks, argued at a preliminary hearing in January that the defendant could not be diverted from the parade route by the barricades, and claimed that Brooks told police he did not want to kill anyone.

However, a police detective testified that officers yelled at Brooks to stop as the SUV rammed into the people in the middle of the parade, but he ignored it, and even the prosecutors affirmed that in a pu The suspect leaned out the window to better target his victims since a body was on the windshield and obstructed his view.

Brooks’s attorneys requested to change the trial location; however, the judge has not yet ruled on the motion.

The massacre of Waukesha happened around 4: 40 pm during a parade to welcome Christmas, which was interrupted when a Ford Red SUV sped past security barriers and into the crowd of parade goers, killing six people between 8 and 77 years, while some 61 people were injured.

In that incident, the Milwaukee County Prosecutor acknowledged that he posted an inappropriately low bail in that case.
