After a week of relatively pleasant weather, this Sunday the thermometer will drop in New York and some snow may fall, especially before noon.

“We have one more mild day ( today Saturday) before an arctic boundary moves, plunging our temperatures into the 11 and 30F (-6C and -1C) tomorrow” Sunday, the National Weather Service (NSW) forecast for the region.

“In addition to the cold plunge ahead, there is likely to be a period of light snow across the region tomorrow morning and afternoon. Accumulation is expected to be light, generally up to an inch or two, especially on grassy surfaces.”

“Although it is a possibility, we are not anticipating snowfall of warning level at this time”, added the local NSW-NY Twitter account, today at noon.

is expected on Sunday night. F (-11C) in NYC. Valentine’s Monday is also shaping up to be cold (28F/-2C). Then the thermometer will rise a little on Tuesday (35F/2C) and Wednesday (48F/8C). At the moment no rain is expected until Thursday and Friday (60F/15C), with low possibility (35%).

In contrast, temperatures in Los Angeles rise and outline record levels for Sunday (89F/31C), this year hosting the largest national sporting event, the Super Bowl LVI.
