A driver of the Boston Public Schools (BPS) reported that he was brutally assaulted by a student who was asked to stop smoking marijuana inside the school bus.

With evident signs of blood as a result of the blows, Jean Blaise recounted the unpleasant incident she suffered at the hands of the student in statements to Boston 25 News.

“My eyes were all red and I had a lot of headache because of the injury, that blow, you know“, said the BPS school bus driver.

The events occurred after school on Wednesday while s Blaise, a veteran driver, was driving students from Excel High School.

While driving, Blaise noticed a student smoking, but realized it wasn’t a cigarette, he had been using marijuana since the back of the bus, added the victim.

“I see that the smoke rises towards the back, but the smell returns to the bus, you know? And I said to turn it off”, the driver commented to Boston 25 News.

It was at that moment when the student attacked Blaise with blows leaving his nose broken and bloody, his left eye swollen and he was left with severe headaches.

For her part, a BPS spokeswoman confirmed the assault and said that the student has already been identified, but his name has not been revealed to the public.

“School principal, Jerleen John, reviewed footage of the incident at BPS headquarters (headquarters) yesterday ( February) to confirm the identity of the student involved,” reported Sharra Gaston, press secretary for the Boston Public Schools.

After being assaulted, the veteran driver acknowledged that he is still recovering physically and emotionally from the attack.
