Unicorn Hunters, “the most iconic business series of recent times”, according to Forbes magazine, announced that its new episode features GeneproDX, a Chilean company dedicated to the molecular diagnosis of thyroid cancer, and that is available to stream via UnicornHunters.com, Binge Networks, LinkedIn Broadcast, Facebook Video, YouTube, and Vimeo.
GeneproDX is the creator of ThyroidPrint, a genetic test developed for indeterminate thyroid cytology that resolves the diagnostic uncertainty of patients with indeterminate thyroid nodules, avoiding up to 88% of unnecessary surgeries.
Its founder, Dr. Hernán González, commented that this technology will save healthcare systems globally millions of dollars each year by eliminating unnecessary surgeries.
GeneproDX, based in Santiago de Chile, is seeking $15 million dollars in capital and is the first international company to appear in the Unicorn Hunters show.
“ThyroidPrint is a genetic test for indeterminate thyroid nodules that comes in kit format and can be used in any laboratory in the world”, explained Hernán González, Doctor of Medical Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad de Chile and with a postdoctoral degree in molecular oncology from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. “In approximately two hours, this test predicts with 96% accuracy the benignity of a nodule that until then was uncertain.”
Dr. González pointed out that his presentation at Unicorn Hunters was key to scaling the business, but it was also a great opportunity to present it to the public, among whom “there are probably many who have an indeterminate nodule.”
