The United States Government is taking additional measures to reinforce security in the city of Los Angeles and prevent anti-vaccine groups from trying to blockade the city during Super Bowl events.

Jen Psaki, spokesman for the White House, confirmed in his daily press conference that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) already has 500 troops and will to increase its capacity with additional personnel, to avoid disturbances in the city during the celebration of the NFL final, the most famous and followed sporting event in the country.

The DHS, assured, maintains strong cooperation with the California Highway Patrol, the Los Angeles Police Department, and state and local authorities. In addition, there is an emergency and coordination center in the area, as is the case with any large event like this.

Furthermore, Psajki recalled that maritime and air security in the area had been increased. Previously, he insisted that the necessary steps are being taken to prevent the anti-vaccine convoys from affecting trade and transport in the areas where they are trying to block them.

The increase in security has been decided after that the Department of the Interior received reports of the possible appearance of anti-vaccine convoys in the coming weeks in major cities, including Los Angeles.

Super Bowl LVI will be held this Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Californiana, where everything is ready to host the most followed US sporting event in the world.
