A Democratic candidate for mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, was allegedly the target of a shooting on Monday morning at his campaign headquarters, according to local authorities.

The head of the Department Louisville Police Erika Shields reported that Democrat Craig Greenberg was the target of the shooting, noting that although no one was injured, a bullet appeared to hit Greenberg’s clothing, and that one person was arrested in connection with the shooting.

“We do not have a known motive at this time,” Shields said. “We also have no reason to believe at this time that this individual was acting other than alone.”

In a statement, the Louisville department indicated that the shooting occurred at Greenberg’s campaign headquarters in the Butchertown neighborhood of Louisville.

Both the FBI as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are helping local authorities investigate the incident, spokesmen for the agencies told CNN.

Tim Beam, a spokesman for the FBI, noted that members of the agency responded to the scene, and are currently working to determine if federal crimes were committed during the shooting attempt.

For her part, Cassandra Mullins, spokeswoman for the ATF confirmed that the agency is assisting the Louisville Metropolitan Police in responding to the i Incident that began after reports to 1200 warning of an “active aggressor”.

Candidate Greenberg wrote in a tweet after the incident that he and his team are safe, and promised to give a update of what happened as soon as possible.

The president of the Louisville County Democratic Party, Virginia Wood, specified this Monday that her offices were at both about the shooting and that they hope it was just a random incident.
