David Beckham is recognized for his illustrious football career in the old continent, specifically with Manchester United and Real Madrid, where he was a member of the “Galácticos”. Furthermore, in the last stretch of his career as a professional footballer, he also formed for Paris Saint-Germain.
That is why for the Briton, the duel between the Merengue team and the Parisians in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, is a division in his heart and admiring two of those who were their clubs.
“If we look at the players, at the history of these two teams, at the passion of the fans in the two cities, this meeting is a dream for any fan,” said David Beckham in a video for Paris Saint-Germain.

The first leg will be played this Tuesday at the Parc des Princes, the which is located in Paris, France. In addition, Beckham himself wanted to distance himself from his presence in the stadium, since that way he can have more freedom to celebrate.
“I’m glad I’m not in the stadium. It would have been very exciting and spectacular to see two teams in which I played face each other, but to be honest, I prefer to be at home, in front of my TV, and celebrate every goal no matter who scores”, added the former footballer.
Likewise, everything seems to indicate that this duel will be a true fight between titans due to their rivalry and what it means to advance to a phase of the most beautiful and important competition in European football.
“It will be very exciting. I think it could be a very offensive game, two great teams face each other, two of the teams that are most exciting at the moment. If you compare them, both are leaders of their championships, they have great coaches and great players”, concluded the Briton.
For now, the presence of Kylian Mbappé and Leo Messi is confirmed and there is still the possibility of seeing Neymar Jr. from the start of the match; while for the merengue team, there is also the dilemma about Karim Benzema’s physical condition.
