The Pentagon stressed on Monday that Russia has not yet made a final decision on whether or not to attack Ukraine, despite reports that the attack could take place this week.

Kirby mentioned the words last Friday of the White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, who warned of “the clear possibility” that Russia attacks Ukraine during the Winter Olympics in Beijing, which will end on 20 February.
“We have shared with our allies and partners, and that includes Ukraine, our assessment of the information we have received, and we have certainly reflected in those conversations our deep concern about the capabilities that Mr. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin has ”, he underlined.
