amazon-adds-new-cities-to-its-health-care-system:-how-much-it-costs-and-where-it-is-available

The company founded by Jeff Bezos announced that it is expanding Amazon Care in-person care services to more than 20 new cities in 2022, to provide more service options to its growing customer base.

This initiative was launched in September 2019, with the intention of providing more patient-centered healthcare to customers when and where they need it.

The Amazon Care service is a hybrid service that combines virtual care and in-person services, and as more organizations require healthcare solutions, demand for the service has increased, the company said in a media release.

“Amazon Care virtual health services are now available nationwide and in-person services will be implemented in more than 20 new cities this year”, highlights the information.

The company is on track to rapidly expand in-person locations throughout 2022 and service is now available in Seattle, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Arlington.

And for this year Amazon is scheduled to bring in-person care services to more than 20 additional cities, including major metropolitan areas like San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, and New York City, so clients can access care where and when they need it most.

Amazon Care notes that it has a patient satisfaction rating of 4.7 out of 5, and is becoming the partner of choice for organizations seeking to improve benefits in the workplace, in companies like Silicon Labs, TrueBlue and Whole Foods Market.

“Patients are tired of a health system that doesn’t put them first. Our patient-centric service is changing that, one visit at a time,” says Kristen Helton, director of Amazon Care. “We have brought our primary care and urgent care services on demand to patients across the country. As we grow the service, we will continue to work with our customers to address their needs.”

Amazon Care provides access to a wide range of primary and urgent care services, including:

– Covid tests-19
– Influenza tests
– Vaccinations
– Disease treatment
– Injury treatment
– Preventive care
– Sexual health
– Prescription requests and refills

When issues cannot be resolved via video, Amazon Care sends a nurse to a patient’s home for additional care where in-person care is available, ranging from routine blood draws to listening to a patient’s lungs.

About the price of this service, Amazon Care points out that registration for the service is free and that the costs of Care Medical visits and other services, such as prescriptions and lab tests, will depend on your health plan. For more details about the costs, it makes available the email help@amazon.care or recommends contacting your insurer directly.
