The new Brooklyn Nets player, Ben Simmons, spoke for the first time as a new player of the New York squad and after several days since the change that brought James Harden to the Philadelphia Sixers was completed. The Australian, on this occasion, was more ambitious and eager to succeed alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
“Having those players running by my side and I think at the pace we want to play , it will be unreal, we will be scary”, Ben Simmons told ESPN.com
This was the first time that the Australian stepped on an NBA court, after making the decision not to play with the Philadelphia Sixers, however on his first day of training with the Brooklyn Nets he took the audacity to clarify everything that happened with his previous organization.
“There are many internal things that had to happen over time. And they got to a point, where I don’t think it was good for me mentally. It happened and that’s it, although for me, it was just being mentally sure that it was okay to go out and play again, ”added Ben Simmons.
Although Simmons left through the back door of the Sixers, the same player wanted to reiterate that his decision to leave was personal and not because he had any problem with the coaches and much less with the fans.
“It wasn’t about Philadelphia fans, coaches or comments made by anyone. It was just something personal for me. That was before that series against the Hawks. They knew it, so it’s something I’m still dealing with”, continued the player of 25 years.
