Former British soccer player David Beckham considered on Monday that Tuesday’s match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Real Madrid, two teams for which he wore the shirt, “is a dream for any fan”.

“If we look at the players, at the history of these two teams, at the passion of the fans in the two cities, this match is a dream for any fan”, he pointed out in a short video published by PSG, the club in which he ended his career in 2013.

The Parisians and Real Madrid, where he spent four seasons, until 2007, will meet in Paris in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

“I’m glad I’m not in the stadium. It would have been very exciting and spectacular to see two teams that I played for face each other, but to be honest, I prefer to be at home, in front of my TV, and celebrate every goal no matter who scores”, he pointed out.

That meeting, in his opinion, will be “very exciting” no matter what happens: “I think it could be a very offensive game. Two great teams are facing each other, two of the most exciting teams at the moment”.

Beckham, who is 46 years old, estimated that, “if you compare them, both are leaders of their championships, they have great coaches and great players.”

Among them, according to what he said, the Spaniard Sergio Ramos, largely absent from the PSG list due to his thigh injury, “and of course Leo, without a doubt one of the best players in the history of football”, he added about the Argentine.
