the-three-chances-you-have-to-win-the-powerball-each-week;-this-monday-there-was-a-winner-of-$183-million-in-connecticut

Since August of last year, Powerball players have up to three weekly opportunities to win that lottery prize.

Powerball announced for those dates that it added the draw on Mondays, which is done to 16: 59 pm ET.

Previously, draws were held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The debut of the draws on Mondays was 23 in August.

In the opinion of May Scheve Reardon, president of the Powerball product group, this represents more opportunities for players.

“This is the first time in the 29 years of Powerball history that drawings will be offered three nights a week,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “Players will still have the same odds (of winning) and the same base ticket price, but more opportunities to get into the game,” Reardon explained.

Powerball tickets, which are sold in 45 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Islands Virgins, they cost $2 each.

More than half of all revenue from Powerball ticket sales stays in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. The draws are broadcast every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10: 59 pm ET from the Florida Lottery studio in Tallahassee. Also, drawings are broadcast live on the Powerball.com website.
