connecticut-lottery-man-who-won-$1-million-advises-new-winners:-'get-off-the-planet'

Chris Wujek knows very well what it means to be a lottery winner in the United States, and not everything is as pretty as they paint it.

Before Christmas, the man, who lives in Windsor, Connecticut, won $1 million in a scratch-off game.

But in the process of becoming a millionaire, there have been several challenges he has faced and about which he alerts current and future winners.

After learning that a person was a winner in the $185 million Powerball drawing in the state on Monday, Wujek recommended that the lucky ones remain anonymous.

“With that amount of money (referring to the $183 millions) disappears from the planet”, declared Wujek in an interview with Fox 61.

“I have had people who come out of nowhere. It’s almost to a point where I think it can be dangerous. People get jealous”, he added.

But not everything has been suspicious or unsatisfactory after he won the lottery.

The man said that, with the money, he bought a Corvette and was able to pay off all his debts.

“That It was the greatest feeling, being able to sign those checks and be totally free of debt”, he indicated.

The lucky man advised lottery winners not to announce their good luck with “hype and fanfare”, since this could play against you.

“Find a lawyer. Ask for advice from someone you trust”, suggested the player.

“It is also important to find someone to help you navigate the fiscal obstacles that ‘Uncle Sam’ throws you into“, he remarked .

“Someone sees on paper that you won $1 million in a scratch-off ticket. They say, you are a millionaire! No, far from it. Maybe I’m half a millionaire,” Wujek said.

The winner of the Powerball drawing in Connecticut this Monday has not yet claimed the loot.
