A young man aged 20 was fatally shot aboard a LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) train in Ronkonkoma this morning , who was to depart en route to New York City.

The deceased was identified as Yusef Staine of West Babylon. He was shot around 1: 45 a.m. on a train that was stopped, ready to depart for Manhattan’s Penn Station, he said. an MTA police spokesman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The gunman fled the scene, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The authorities did not provide details on the identity of the suspect.
