alvaro-morata-does-not-want-to-leave-juventus:-“if-it-were-up-to-me-i-would-always-stay”

Juventus’ Spanish striker, Álvaro Morata, assured in the press conference prior to the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Villarreal that he is “very happy” and that, if it were up to him, he would he would “always” remain in the Turin club.

Morata, formerly of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, was one of the names that most sounded during the winter market due to the interest of Barcelona. The forward, despite the fact that he was able to leave, finally did not leave the ranks led by the Italian Massimiliano Allegri, a coach who has always shown his confidence in the Spanish international.

“I spoke with the coach when he closed the market, about the team and its idea. He told me that he would help me the arrival of Vlahovic, and so it has been. I’m happy to be here and if it were up to me I’d always be here”, he declared at the press conference prior to the match against Villarreal.

“I have always felt Allegri’s trust, he is the first to ask me a lot, he knows me. He told me that I had to stay and that he trusted me, I have to respond to him on the pitch”, he added.

The man from Madrid also spoke about the arrival of Serbian Dusan Vlahovic at the club, something that has now placed him on the left wing: “The position I play in doesn’t matter, the important thing is that Juve win and the performances invite optimism” .

“Vlahovic already had tomorrow’s match in his eyes today. This is something that gives everyone hope, we hope that tomorrow he will score for the first time in the Champions League”, said the striker.

Juventus de Turín travels to Castellón diminished by the significant casualties of the Italians Leo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini in defense; and that of the Argentinian Paulo Dybala in attack, but Morata trusts a team that, in his words, has “many goals.”

“We came into the game with a different dynamic, being positive. We can’t wait to play tomorrow. The arrivals of Zakaria and Vlahovic have been good for us”.

“We still have many goals , we want to dream because we work hard every day. The Champions League is open. It is difficult to say how far we can go, this competition is based on details and luck influences. We will have to give everything,” he stated.

Regarding his rival, Morata stated that Villarreal is a complicated team, but that they already know what they have to do.

“Tomorrow we have an important test, it is difficult to win in ‘Champions’, but it is also difficult to beat us. Villarreal has clear ideas, plays good football and moves well with and without the ball. We will have to be complete and give little, we already know what to do”, he sentenced.
