Britney Spears signed an unconventional millionaire agreement with the publishing house Simon & Schuster to write her memoir and tell all the details of her career and troubled life with her family.
According to several experts on the matter, consulted by media such as The New York Post, the 40-year-old pop singer agreed to a contract of around $15 million dollars for his autobiography.
This partnership comes after a bidding war between several publishers for his book, a source confirmed anonymously to the Page Six portal, who stated, “the agreement is one of the greatest of all time, behind the Obamas.”
The rights to the books by Barack and Michelle Obama were sold at 2017, with a sum reportedly in excess of $60 million dollars, the largest figure ever known for books nonfiction. Bill Clinton got a $13 million dollar contract for his post-presidential book “My Life”, in 2001.
Spears decided to write her own memoir after reading those of her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, “Things I Should Have Said”, published in January of this year.
In her book, Jamie Lynn described a moment when Britney took a knife, locked her in a room and said: “Honey, I’m scared”, a statement that the singer has denied more than once.
“I have never been near you with a knife or even thought in doing something like that Only a scum would make up those things about someone”, Britney tweeted at the time.
Since the singer’s notorious and infamous tutelage ended after 13 years, last November, Britney has been the subject of a series of documentaries that have focused on her battles legal and their attempts at freedom.
The interpreter had already hinted that she was ready to start writing her book. Sharing a photo of a typewriter, she posted on her social media in early January with the message, “Should I start from the beginning?”
