A 500 pound black bear has been terrorizing an upscale neighborhood in California, Therefore, residents of South Lake Tahoe have asked the authorities to intervene so that there are no mishaps with the huge animal.
The wild creature has been named “Hank the Tank” by the residents of the county from El Dorado, who have been impressed by its ability to get through garage doors and sometimes into their backyards.
According to reports and some witnesses, the huge bear Hank the Tank has broken into in more than 28 homes during his visits, where he has carried out some robberies in order to find food.
California police have used bean bags, paintballs, stun guns and sirens to try to scare Hank away from South Lake Tahoe, but to no avail, he told know the New York Times.
But the determined bear Hank has not lost heart yet and usually returns to the houses where he found some food in order to survive.
The neighbors from South Lake Tahoe, concerned, they fear that if the bear, which has attracted more than 28 calls from the police, he does not leave, he could be mortally wounded by the authorities, a situation they are trying to avoid at all costs.

The environmentalists of the “Bear League” have been frantically searching for a sanctuary that accepts the bear Hank if it can be caught humanely.
Peter Tira, a spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife told reporters that “it’s easier to find leftover pizza than to go into the woods to find food; this is a bear that has lost all fear of people. It is a potentially dangerous situation”.
He added that Hank did not get into a trap set for him this month, so the police are thinking of a new approach, with euthanasia being his “ last option”.
Ann Bryant, executive director of the Bear League, a wildlife rescue service, said: “It just sits there and eats… It doesn’t attack them. He doesn’t growl. He doesn’t make rude faces.”
