Eden Hazard has one foot out of Real Madrid. Since he arrived at the white club, he has not stopped stumbling between injuries and a performance quite distant -for worse- from what he exhibited at Chelsea, when he began to fight face to face with the best in the world. For Joe Cole, a former English player, the Belgian did not exploit his full potential because of his mentality, which prevented him from being as successful as Cristiano Ronaldo.
In statements to The Athletic, Cole assured that Eden Hazard could become the best player in the world, and that he could even have taken the Ballon d’Or from Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo as his partner Luka Modric in 2018. But he did not have the mentality to achieve it.
“He could have lived a life like Cristiano Ronaldo’s. You know, ice baths at 1: 00 am and all that… that’s not him. If he had it (the mindset), he probably would have won every single award out there. But Eden did things his way,” Cole recounted.
Many times Hazard has been questioned about his routines, and he has even been seen to be overweight during some of his moments at Real Madrid.
Discipline and mentality is key when competing against the best in the world. Eden Hazard has not only had bad luck, but bad habits.
