The Brazilian striker for Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar Jr. recently revealed that he was about to return to FC Barcelona in 2019, to the point that his agents tried to negotiate with the management of the culé team but the results were not positive.
“He wanted to return to Barcelona. We tried everything but we didn’t get it”, Neymar said in an interview granted to ‘Fenómenos’, hosted by Ronaldo Nazario and the renowned Brazilian streamer, Gaules, in which he told about various issues of his career and his future.
The main intention of the international player with Brazil was to reunite with his great friend, the Argentine Leo Messi, something that finally happened years later but in the Parisian set.
“Finally, he had the opportunity to sign here, with Paris Saint-Germain. I’m very happy. He is my friend and we get along very well, ”confessed the former Santos player about Messi’s arrival at PSG.
Neymar signed for PSG in the summer of 2017 from Barcelona for more of $200 million dollars, a figure that made him the most expensive signing in football history and that caused a impressive controversy for the way in which he left the Spanish club.
Neymar and his possible retirement from football
On the other hand, the ‘Canarinha’ striker spoke about his possible retirement from football and made it clear that for now he does not think about it since physically he still has a lot to give, however, he also pointed out that the mental part will be important for continue in this sport.
“Physically, I think I can last a few more years, but my head should be fine too. I did not set an age limit to retire”, he pointed out.
Despite the fact that it is still not clear when the end of his career will be, Neymar does know where he wants it to happen, and it is exactly where he started his career, in the Saints. Although he has hinted that he wants to play in a United States franchise, precisely in the MLS.
