Puerto Rican basketball player José Juan Barea announced on Tuesday the construction of the JUMP Sports Development Center, an innovative multi-sports project with accommodation, in an abandoned school in San Juan.
“The complex will provide athletes with the appropriate support and training, regardless of their physical condition, ability or sports history“, Barea mentioned in a press release.
“Everyone has an athlete inside them, and at JUMP we will focus on helping them find theirs,” added the basket player with experience in the NBA, Spain and Puerto Rico.
JUMP will feature with 100.000 square feet of space interior that will give space to basketball courts, volleyball courts, and beach tennis, a health rehabilitation center, training rooms, an outdoor soccer field, hotel rooms, a clothing and sports equipment store and a sports area. food and drink.
The sports facility will also have experts in physiological exercise who will help athletes find the right methods to develop their maximum potential. Technicians will teach athletes how to use their energy and movement by developing athletic fundamentals and maximizing their skills.
The facility will also host the latest research on physical training and the most advanced technology to help athletes of all levels and ages identify and achieve their goals, whether it be overcoming a physical injury or developing their full athletic potential.
The first phase of construction , whose investment will reach $7 million dollars, is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.
Likewise, the facility will have a hotel to accommodate athletes who seek to train and stay in the same place so that they can focus on your training without interruptions and without having to travel from one facility to another.
It will also serve people seeking physical therapy or rehabilitation. Ultimately, JUMP will be developed as a pioneering model for the development of youth and collegiate sports.
