Enben Moodley, 40 years old, attempted to kidnap a minor while he was sitting in a Walmart shopping cart in Naples, Florida.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect allegedly approached the mother who was in the establishment’s parking lot and stealthily attempted to remove the 3-year-old from the shopping cart.

“When the mother began screaming for help, Moodley put the child back in the cart and walked away,” the sheriff’s office reported.

Agents located Enben Moodley shortly after the incident and he was arrested for child abuse and false imprisonment.

The minor’s mother, who was not identified, told authorities she noticed of Enben Moodley’s presence inside the store because on a couple of occasions he was very close to her and suddenly saw him yelling at the cashiers.

Meanwhile, the employees of the Walmart store indicated that the man had difficulty speaking and appeared to be intoxicated.

Despite the fact that the incident was classified as “isolated”, the agents have increased the number of patrols in the area to prevent an event like this from happening again that not only alerted the customers of the place, but also the neighbors of the Walmart in Naples, Florida.

So far it is known that the minor old escaped unharmed from the incident and the mother, who despite being nervous and scared, did not require medical attention.

Enben Moodley was deprived of his liberty and is awaiting of being sentenced on charges of child abuse and false imprisonment.
