Ehab E. Nassif was arrested on suspicion of rubbing his groin against a woman’s butt at a supermarket in Howell, New Jersey, police said Wednesday.

Nassif, 59 was charged with fourth degree criminal sexual contact after a customer claimed he had followed her into a supermarket “Lidl” on US Route 9 South in Howell, February 12.

An investigation revealed that Nassif allegedly pretended to look at products on a shelf near the woman as he approached her. “When the victim reached for an item on the shelf, the subject deliberately rubbed his groin on his buttocks,” Howell Township Police said in a statement.

The victim also reported seeing Nassif do the same with another shopper, but fled the supermarket before he could be identified, according to New York Post.

A “concerned citizen” later saw a report of the alleged sexual abuse on social media and called police late last week to report that a man matching the suspect’s description was at a “HomeGoods” store near the supermarket. “The person reported that he had observed the man walking through several aisles of the store to pass female customers, deliberately extending his arm and hand to brush his buttocks,” police said.

Nassif was later identified as the suspect and arrested at his home without incident. Police said several items of clothing matching the victim’s initial description were recovered from his residence. They added that they “strongly” believe that Nassif also victimized other people. Anyone with additional information on this or any other case should contact Howell Police at (732) 938-4575.
